Indications for Use

For dissolving cholesterol gallstones; for the treatment of primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) in the absence of decompensated liver cirrhosis; hepatobiliary disorder associated with cystic fibrosis in children aged 6 to 18 years.

Composition & Active Ingredient

Active Ingredient: Ursodeoxycholic acid
Composition: 1 capsule contains: active substance — ursodeoxycholic acid 250.0 mg; excipients — corn starch, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal silicon dioxide (Aerosil), magnesium stearate, hard gelatin capsule size "0".

Dosage & Administration

Dosage: Daily dose is determined by therapeutic indications. For dissolving cholesterol gallstones: 8–12 mg/kg body weight per day (up to 60 kg — 2 capsules, 61–80 kg — 3 capsules, 81–100 kg — 4 capsules, over 100 kg — 5 capsules). For primary biliary cirrhosis — 3 to 7 capsules per day (12–16 mg/kg body weight). Children with cystic fibrosis (6–18 years) — 20 mg/kg/day, increasing to 30 mg/kg/day if necessary.
Usage Instructions: Hard capsules should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. A suspension is available for patients weighing less than 47 kg.

Contraindications

Acute inflammation of the gallbladder or bile ducts; occlusion of the bile ducts; frequent episodes of biliary colic; radiopaque calcified gallstones; impaired gallbladder contractility; hypersensitivity to bile acids or excipients.

Storage & Packaging

Storage Conditions: Store in a dry place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Shelf life — 3 years.
