Indications for Use

Indicated for the treatment of primary and secondary carnitine deficiency in adults, children, infants and newborns. Also indicated for secondary carnitine deficiency in hemodialysis patients (severe muscle cramps, hypotension during dialysis, skeletal muscle weakness, cardiomyopathy, anemia, malnutrition-induced muscle loss).

Composition & Active Ingredient

Active Ingredient: Levokarnitin
Composition: Each ml of solution contains: active substance — levocarnitine 200.0 mg; excipient — water for injections up to 1.00 ml.

Dosage & Administration

Dosage: For slow intravenous administration over 2–3 minutes. For acute decompensation — up to 100 mg/kg/day in 3–4 doses. For secondary carnitine deficiency in hemodialysis patients — 20 mg/kg intravenous bolus at the end of each dialysis session (3 sessions per week), for at least 3 months. Maintenance therapy — 1 g orally per day.
Usage Instructions: For slow intravenous administration. The required dose depends on the specific metabolic disorder and severity of the condition. It is advisable to monitor therapy by measuring free and acylcarnitine levels in plasma and urine.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.

Storage & Packaging

Storage Conditions: Store in a dry place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Shelf life — 3 years.
