Indications for Use

Primary hypercholesterolemia (Fredrickson type IIa, IIb) as an adjunct to diet; familial homozygous hypercholesterolemia; hypertriglyceridemia (type IV); slowing the progression of atherosclerosis; primary prevention of cardiovascular complications in patients at increased risk.

Composition & Active Ingredient

Active Ingredient: Rosuvastatin calcium
Composition: Each tablet contains: active substance — rosuvastatin calcium, equivalent to rosuvastatin, 10 mg or 20 mg; excipients — microcrystalline cellulose (PH 102), lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium stearate, purified talc.

Dosage & Administration

Dosage: The recommended starting dose is 5 or 10 mg once daily. The dose may be increased after 4 weeks if needed. The 40 mg dose is not recommended for patients who have not previously consulted a physician. Patients with moderate renal impairment are recommended a starting dose of 5 mg.
Usage Instructions: Taken orally; the tablet should not be chewed or crushed, but swallowed whole with water. Can be taken at any time of day regardless of food intake. A standard cholesterol-lowering diet should be followed before starting therapy and continued during treatment.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to rosuvastatin or the components of the drug; lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption; children and adolescents under 18 years; active liver disease; severe renal impairment (CrCl less than 30 ml/min); myopathy; concomitant use of cyclosporine; pregnancy, breastfeeding (in women).

Storage & Packaging

Storage Conditions: Store in a dry place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Shelf life — 3 years.
